It’s that time of year for Melbourne’s only true laneway festival, Cherry Rock!
It’ll be a big day out with bands making an absolute racket down the world renowned AC/DC Lane, our outdoor stage showcasing some of the most seminal and contemporary talent in punk and rock history from not only locally but also abroad!
An exciting lineup of up and coming acts will be joining the Cosmic Psychos (bringing’ their yobbo-rural-punk from the sunburnt farms of regional Victoria to Cherry Rock for the first time!), Cash Savage and the Last Drinks (the award-winning six-piece presenting their signature brand of psychedelic rock, country and blues), The Cribs (the first Australian tour Down Under in five years for the UK act often cited as “best live act” by numerous publications and veterans of the global festival circuit at festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading/Leeds, Coachella, Lollapalooza) and The Chats (Sunshine Coast youngsters who recently went viral with a charming little ditty you may have stumbled across called “Smoko”?).
Whilst inside Cherry itself we’ll be highlighting our weekly Thursday Soul in the Basement, teaming up with the legendary Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) as he hosts his infamous “Sex Beat Dance Party” from New York! You can expect ’60’s Soul Stompers, Snotty vintage, an early disco tune or two and anything wild that fits in for that one!
An open air event in the Central Business District with bands crankin’ amps in-between buildings, down the back gulley of 101 Collins. #thatsmelbourne
