‘Grow Your Own’ Festival returns to the shores of Forster-Tuncurry on NSW’s Mid North Coast this Saturday January 12th, with it’s handpicked, homegrown lineup of Aussie music legends heading up the festival’s third edition, including Damaged’s fave blood and bone punks, Mini Skirt.
For those of you unfamiliar with Mini Skirt… (where have you been hiding?), the Byron Bay four-piece, who have only just stepped off of the Falls Festival stage, have been making a racket around Australia, representing the compost of their scenic hometown’s underbelly, delivering raw and choppy pub punk driven by dirty direct lyrics.
In 2017, Mini Skirt took out the prestigious honour of being crowned the inaugural VB Hard Yards Champions, joining the legendary Cosmic Psychos to take over the newly reopened The Lansdowne in what was one hell of a beer-soaked, Aussie pub rock renaissance.
If you missed it, you can check it out HERE.
Mini Skirt also released a couple of fresh tracks last year, ‘Untitled’ and ‘Fun Police’, and we bloody love both of them so go chuck them a listen at: www.miniskirt666.bandcamp.com or www.triplejunearthed.com/artist/mini-skirt
Politically minded, culturally aware and wise beyond their years, Mini Skirt cut through the crap of modern rock, simmering it down to the bare essentials. Not ones to settle for simply riding the wave of the all too familiar 2018 garage punk sound, Mini Skirt deliver timeless straight up pub punk rock with enough grit and attitude to make any listener think twice about how true the peace-and-love reputation of Byron Bay really is.
You can catch Mini Skirt at ‘Grow Your Own’ Festival at 1:40pm this Saturday 12th January at Harry Elliott Oval, Forster-Tancurry, NSW. Gates open at Midday, GA tickets $89 available from venue from 11am. 18+ event. For more information visit HERE
